I need to have a very large photo printed. Would a large format printer offer the same print quality as a smaller one? I really need this to look good.

Oh, definitely! This is the purpose of a large format printer, to help you print images of large dimmensions at high quality. But you should also keep in mind that the quality of the final product depends on the quality of the original picture itself, therefore your item should have a high resolution.
