How should one treat barbecue smokers before starting to use them?

You know how it is with barbecue smokers, you need to take care of them if you want them to last. The first thing you should do right after purchasing a barbecue smoker and using it to have your first barbecue done, is to fire it up without placing any food in it. Fire it up for at least half an hour. That would take care of any type of residue from manufacturing. After that, you should season it according to the instructions in the manual.

Are all things that are used for cake decorating eatable?

Not really! The candles are not comestible for sure! The rest of the things used in cake decorating might be eatable, but it is better to ask. Truth is a lot of cake decorations look so artificial today, even if they are made of sugar.

Do you think a cake decorating expert can make the top of a cake look like a picture of a friend of mine whose birthday is in two days?

Of course he can! He doesn’t even need to be a cake decorating expert because the processing of the image you intend to place on the top of your friend’s cake is done using a computerized piece of equipment! Just make sure the picture you bring is a good quality one.

I have a diet plan to follow for almost twn weeks, but my friend’s wedding is next week. Do you think that if I get out of my diet plan for a day it will be bad?

I wouldn’t say that “cheating” your diet plan for a day is that bad if you are a very determined person and you come back to your healthy habbits the next day. However, how about trying to eat only food items that are light in oils and carbohydrates. I’m sure you will have a lot of food and you can choose something that is close to your diet. It would be better for you because your liver and digestive system are used to the diet plan and if you shock them with a lot of food in that night, you might have the unpleasant surprise of feeling sick.

What is the best material to cover fruit baskets in?

If you’re referring to materials you could beautifully wrap fruit baskets into, the I suggest transparent foliation which you wrap with decorative bow. That’s if you intend to offer a fruit basket as a gift. Otherwise, you can keep it uncovered.

What one survival foods item would you stock in your freezer?

question posted by Marton on January 9th, 2009 03:43

accepted answer has been given by Yvonne

I would say the ultimate survival foods choice for me would be ready to eat meals, but, unfortunately, they don’t last as long as other types of foods, like cans or rice and so on. However, if I would be obliged to stock something for a long time due to any sort of crisis, I would choose complete nutrition foods.

Can you add personal writing on candy bar wrappers?

Of course you can add any type of personal writing on candy bar wrappers, and you can either do that yourself, or have them customized at a printing shop. The only problem is that you’ll have to wrap the candies yourself, but that shouldn’t take too much.

Would you rather consume microwaves popcorn or popcorn you are popping yourself, on the gas machine?

question posted by Caroline on January 8th, 2009 03:37

You know what people think of foods that are prepared with the help of the microwaves. I would probably eat microwaves popped popcorn once or twice a month and pop the rest of it myself, it’s not such a big deal, it’s even tastier and fresher.

Would it be a good idea to buy fruit baskets from the US if I want to offer them as gifts to my friends in Australia?

question posted by Manderlay on January 7th, 2009 03:48

accepted answer has been given by terrence

It would be a very good idea to buy fruit baskets for your friends, but not from the US because Australia does not allow any type of fruits to enter its territory. So consider buying them from Australia or consider other types of gifts, I’m sure they have all sorts of fruits in there.

How long do survival foods resist if not frozen?

question posted by Jen on January 7th, 2009 02:47

accepted answer has been given by Miller

If the temperature in the room the survival foods are deposited does not go over 15-20 degrees Celsius, I wouldn’t worry about them getting damaged in any way. Cans last for at least 3 years since they have been sealed. Home made steamed fruit last for about two years, if sealed correctly, cereals and pasta last for about two years as well.
